Mimosa Calixto
A native of the Philippine Island, came to the United States in 1979 as an immigrant. She became a naturalized U.S. Citizen in 1985. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration (concentrated in accounting) at California State University, Dominguez Hills in the city of Carson. Most of her employee/work experience fell under the aerospace and defense industries (both public and private), but have also worked temporary jobs with different industries as revenue and staff accountant with the help of her dependable and loyal recruiters.
She is currently a California Registered Tax Preparer (CRTP) with the California Tax Education Council (CTEC), and started her own bookkeeping practice for individuals and start-up businesses in hopes to add value to our nation's growing needs. Tax preparation, and providing affordable, quality-detailed bookkeeping and accounting for individuals, sole-proprietor-ownership, and independent contractors are what she does best. Her strong aspiration to launching Five Decimal Places Bookkeeping Service comes from her many experiences both in her work and personal day to day living. As we encounter many deficiencies even in the basic accounting system of institutions we have dealt with in the past or institutions we currently do business with, she believes that many of these deficiencies are left unnoticed. In turn, many are simply overlooked by taxpayers, making less-advantaged individuals vulnerable to such oversight and as a result might have driven themselves in debts.
She believes that several important aspects to acquiring financial stability, besides having a regular earning, is by learning to bring things up that are unclear by always asking questions, living within your means by spending only what you can afford, never take advantage of anyone, avoiding deviations from any systems in place, getting always informed and only conduct business with people you trust, knowing your worth, and most of all, by having a reliable and trustworthy bookkeeper on your side. Remember that, “Knowledge is Power”, and she believes that together, we can and we will achieve, what we often hear, “The Dream”.
